Policies / Terms of Sale
ORDER AGREEMENT:
If you place an order, you must be okay with WINTER shipping STARTING IMMEDIATELY, and you agree to the order being sent without a heat pack or special insulation.
If your package is likely to freeze in transit and your local temperatures are staying below 36*F, please hold off and do not order until it is safe for us to ship to you, there's no need to risk it!
We will not refund or replace for freezing in transit or after delivery. Our weather from 12/4 onwards is perfect here in Oregon, so we have a window when we will send out to you. We will close the shop when freezing weather is coming up.
If you're local to Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA, feel free to message us and we can work something out for local pickup.
SHIPPING WILL BE THROUGH USPS, AND IT WILL BE FLAT RATE UNLESS YOU ARRANGE OTHERWISE BEFORE YOU ORDER. That's why shipping costs are higher than usual, we can do Ground Advantage but with the weather we prefer to get these tubers to you quicker through Flat Rate USPS.
TUBER INFORMATION:
Dahlia tubers require proper storage, once received they become your responsibility to care for them until planting time. We are not liable for improper storage methods or any losses that occur after the tubers have arrived in good condition. Please contact us (and include photos in your message) within 24 hours of the package being received if you have an issue with your tubers. OPEN YOUR PACKAGE RIGHT AWAY PLEASE! DON'T LEAVE THEM OUT IN THE COLD! CHECK THOSE TUBERS!!!
We hold a nursery license from the OR Dept of Agriculture to allow us to sell tubers.
OUR TUBERS:
All tubers will be confirmed to have at least one eye on them before shipping.
All varieties have been confirmed to bloom true, we are extremely careful with labeling at the base of the plant, and those labels follow the tubers all the way through to packaging.
We use a bleach solution on our snips between varieties to help prevent the spread of any disease. We also cull any questionable plants, anything that looks like gall or virus goes in the trash - we take the health of our dahlias seriously! Even so, we cannot be responsible for disease, virus, gall, growing conditions, rot, etc. after the tubers leave our hands.
SHIPPING ISSUES:
Please contact us (and include photos in your message) within 24 hours of the package being received if you have an issue with your tubers. In the event of an issue with USPS, customer must contact their local branch to file a claim for a missing, damaged, or severely delayed package.
WHAT ARE OUR "MINI TUBERS" LABELED "DIFFICULT TO STORE"?
These are tubers with a higher potential of not surviving winter storage, if you aren't experienced with tuber keeping, these are maybe not a good option for you! They are priced as closeouts because some experienced growers may want to take that chance! Many are around AAA sized. These are one's we'd usually just keep and grow ourselves, but we have a few extras!
NOTE ABOUT SMALL CLUMPS: We have a few Compact Clumps meant FOR CUTTINGS! (Not meant to divide), they are not pot tubers, but rather mini clumps that we have grown close together to condense the size of. These are best for potting in soil and waking up for indoor cuttings, which is why they are priced higher!
